A museum near your home is looking for people to do part-time voluntary/unpaid work. You would like to do some voluntary/unpaid work at the museum.
Write a letter to the museum director to apply for the voluntary/unpaid work. In your letter:
• Explain why you want to work voluntary/unpaid at the museum.
• Describe some skills and qualities you have that would be useful.
• Give details of when you would be available for work.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to let you know that I am interested in the voluntary work in your museum, which is just a stone’s throw away from our house. Apart from the fact that a work like this would help me build good resume for a professional job in not too distant future, I am also a good student of history and I have penchant for arts.
Generally speaking, I am an organized individual who has an eye for details when it comes to administration, this could be the reason for my appointment as the head prefect when I was still in the secondary school. I am good on the computer and I also posses a decent level respect, which visitors to the museum would find quite admirable.
I would like to inform you that I am free to take on this work next week Monday, which is just seven day from today if my application is given a favourable review.
Thank you for the opportunity to apply.
Yours faithfully,
Joseph Maj.
